Dr. Joyce Jackson was awarded the Outstanding Service-learning Faculty Award.
The Outstanding Service-Learning Faculty Award recognizes outstanding service-learning contributions by full-time LSU faculty, including instructors. Nominees must demonstrate exceptional and sustained commitment to integrating quality service-learning activities in at least one academic course. Service-learning activities must exemplify best practices, have significant community partner input and involvement, and be approved through CCELL.
Dr. Kathe Managan and Dr. Jill Trepanier were awarded the Tiger Athletic Foundation Undergraduate Teaching Award.
Dr. Dydia DeLyser was awarded the University College TAF Teaching Awards. LSU students are integral in the process of selecting the winners, as they nominate their best professors and instructors. All nominated faculty are presented to a Teaching Awards Selection Committee and recipients are then announced. A highlight of the ceremony is the reading of a quote submitted by a student. Dr. DeLyser’s student wrote: “Dr. DeLyser is incredibly interested and excited about what she is teaching. She has many of her own successes and experiences that she is able to work into the lectures, which makes class instruction very engaging. I have never understood history or had any interest in geography, but after her class, I love it! She is an amazing person and an even better teacher.”
