Geography & Anthropology hosts Counselors’ Luncheon

On Monday, November 23, 2015, the Department of Geography & Anthropology hosted a Counselors’ Luncheon in the Robert A. Muller Conference Room.  A main goal of the gathering was to acquaint other counselors about the Geography and Anthropology department and to highlight various undergraduate degrees offered in the department.  Dr. Brian Marks provided an overview of the Geography BA and BS, concentrations in Disaster Science Management (DSM) and concentration in Geographic Information Science (GIS). Dr. Jill Brody provided an overview of Anthropology BA.  Faculty members spoke about their specialties, and answered many questions from counselors.  More than twenty counselors attended the luncheon.  Some of the attendees were R. Paul Ivey – Executive Director of University College at Louisiana State University and Chief Administrator for this academic college which is comprised of the Center for Freshman Year, the Center for Advising and Counseling, McNair Research Scholars, Student Support Services, and Summer Scholars,  Tim Fields – President, Louisiana Counseling Association, Counselor / Coordinator, University College, Louisiana State University, Andrea Jones – Assistant Director, UCAC – Center for Advising & Counseling, Rebecca Caire - Assistant Dean, College of Humanities & Social Sciences, Louisiana State University.
