Underwater Forest Spills Its Secrets in New Documentary

Kristine DeLong appears in a new documentary on an ancient cypress forest in the Gulf of Mexico.

“Kristine DeLong is a paleoclimatologist at Louisiana State University, and an expert in the climactic upheavals of the past. She usually studies coral formations, which can provide a record of what the world’s oceans and atmosphere were like thousands of years ago. She contacted AL.com after the first article announcing the discovery of the forest and said she’d like a crack at diving the site and analyzing the trees.”

Watch the documentary, Underwater Forest, and read more in the article on AL.com.
