Underwater Forest Spills Its Secrets in New Documentary

Kristine DeLong appears in a new documentary on an ancient cypress forest in the Gulf of Mexico.

“Kristine DeLong is a paleoclimatologist at Louisiana State University, and an expert in the climactic upheavals of the past. She usually studies coral formations, which can provide a record of what the world’s oceans and atmosphere were like thousands of years ago. She contacted after the first article announcing the discovery of the forest and said she’d like a crack at diving the site and analyzing the trees.”
